Family tribute to bike death teen | |

The father of a 15-year-old cyclist who died when his bike was involved in a collision with a car has paid tribute to his "sports fanatic" son. | |
Daniel Burgess, who attended Nairn Academy, died following the accident on the A96 Elgin to Inverness road, near Nairn, on Saturday. | |
His father Andy said: "Daniel was a happy and lively young sports fanatic. | |
"He liked nothing better than spending every possible moment on the golf courses of Nairn or football pitches." | |
Mr Burgess said his family had moved to the area from Stonehaven. | |
He said Daniel, who played for Nairn County's youth team, would be "sorely missed" by friends and family including his mother Liz, and brothers Sean, 13, and Andrew, 11. | |
"We are very grateful for the support we have received," he said. | |

Northern Constabulary have appealed for witnesses to the accident which happened at the junction with Sandown Farm Lane at about 2215 GMT on Saturday. | |
