A 17-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in west Belfast. A 17-year-old youth has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in west Belfast at the weekend.
It follows an incident in which a 16-year-old youth suffered serious injuries in a knife attack at Stewartstown Road, Belfast. A 16-year-old, attacked after leaving a take away on the Stewartstown Road on Saturday, is in a stable condition in hospital.
It happened outside a fast food takeaway opposite the Twinbrook estate at 0300 GMT on Saturday. The youth is in a stable condition in hospital. Lisburn Magistrates Court was told when charged with attempted murder the accused replied "not guilty".
The 17-year-old man is due to appear at Lisburn Magistrates Court on Monday. The youth, who cannot be named because of his age, was remanded in custody.
