Man is killed after car hits tree

A man has died after the car in which he was travelling hit a tree in County Fermanagh.

The accident happened on the Wattlebridge Road in Newtownbutler shortly after 0300 GMT on Sunday.

The man was 47 years old. Police said there were no further details at this moment.

In a separate accident at the weekend, one man was killed and another man was injured in a car accident in County Tyrone.

The man died after a collision involving two cars on the Gillygooley Road at Drumquin near Omagh at about 2115 on Friday.

The driver of the other car was taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The Gillygooley Road was closed but has now been reopened. Police have appealed for witnesses.
