A fraudster who worked as a forensic psychologist without any qualifications for almost 30 years has been convicted of deception. A man who worked fraudulently as a forensic psychologist for almost 30 years has been convicted of deception.
Gene Morrison, 48, was accused of appearing in court to give expert advice for payment from solicitors. Gene Morrison, 48, left school with no qualifications but gave evidence as an "expert" in hundreds of court cases, many of which must now be re-assessed.
On Wednesday, he was found guilty at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court of a host of deception charges. He was convcited at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court of 20 charges of deception.
Morrison, from Martin Street in Hyde, Greater Manchester, had denied the charges. Morrison, of Hyde, who was described as a charlatan, had denied conning judges, solicitors and police over decades.

The court heard he had duped them into believing he was qualified and was paid at least £250,000 in taxpayers' money.
Morrison also gave evidence from the witness box and wrote reports, many of which he had copied from the internet.
About 700 cases in which he gave evidence are now being re-assessed to look for possible miscarriages of justice.
Morrison was convicted of 20 offences including obtaining a money transfer by deception, obtaining property by deception, perverting the course of justice and perjury.
He was cleared of one count of obtaining a money transfer by deception after a four-week trial.
The jury is continuing to deliberate on a single count of intending to pervert the course of justice and another of attempting to obtain property by deception.
