Campus search over assault claim Sex attack on woman at university

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault in the grounds of Queen's University in Belfast. A woman in her 20s was the victim of a serious sexual assault in the grounds of Queen's University in Belfast on Saturday night, police have confirmed.
It was reported on Sunday evening. Part of the university's campus, behind the main Lanyon Building and the university library, has been cordoned off. The attack happened some time between 2330 GMT and midnight.
Police landrovers are in the area and officers are conducting a search of the grounds. The victim was walking from Botanic Avenue towards the Lisburn Road, when a man with a knife forced her into a secluded area and attacked her.
The woman, who is not a student, has been left extremely traumatised by her ordeal.
The attacker is believed to be in his mid-20s, about 5ft 5ins tall and clean shaven.
He was wearing jeans, a blue t-shirt and jacket.
Part of the university's campus, behind the main Lanyon Building and the university library, was cordoned off on Monday and officers conducted a search of the grounds.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the attack or has any information about it to contact them.
