Rush hour crash at Oxford Circus Six hurt in Regent Street crash

Six pedestrians have been injured near Oxford Circus in central London after a car crashed into them during rush hour. Six pedestrians were hurt when they were struck by a car during rush hour in a busy central London street.
Two of them are described as having serious injuries following the incident at the junction of Margaret Street and Regent Street. Two people were seriously injured and another four required hospital treatment after the accident in Regent Street on Friday evening.

The crash caused major traffic disruption and Regent Street was closed each way between Oxford Circus and Cavendish Place on Friday evening. A 200-metre section of Regent Street was cordoned off by police, and a vehicle which had crashed into a shop could be seen on the pavement.
Transport for London said the road closures would be in place "for some time". A police officer manning the cordon said the vehicle had been crossing Regent Street when it collided with a group of pedestrians.
Police are asking for anyone with information to contact them. "One person had his leg nearly torn off," he said. "He was in agony and was shouting."
Bill Kerns, who sells newspapers on the corner of Regent Street and Oxford Street, said about seven ambulances and three fire engines had attended.
