Man charged with youth's murder

A man has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy who suffered fatal stab wounds in east London.

Jamie Turpin, 20, was arrested after Thomas Jones was found injured in Cyprus Place, Beckton, early on Friday.

Mr Turpin, of Straight Road, East Ham, is due before Greenwich magistrates on Monday morning.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Thomas, from Harlow, Essex, died from a single stab wound. He was pronounced dead at Newham General Hospital.
