Britons acquitted of Cyprus death
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/england/essex/6366705.stm Version 0 of 1. Two Britons accused of killing a Cypriot teenager and injuring his friend have been cleared. Michael Binnington, 21, and Luke Atkinson, 22, from Witham, Essex, denied the manslaughter of moped rider Christos Papiris, 17, in August 2006. Mr Papiris died in the crash and driver Marios Demetriou, 17, was seriously hurt, the court in Larnaca heard. Their uncle Julian Harrington, also from Whitham, 39, admitted manslaughter at an earlier hearing. The court said that the prosecution had failed to prove there had been a common purpose between the two and Harrington to harm the motorcyclists. |
