Heavy rain has caused disruption and flooding across Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire. A major incident has been declared in Lincolnshire following heavy rain and widespread flooding.
The Environment Agency has issued 23 flood warnings for Lincolnshire, external, including areas near Bourne, Grantham, Lincoln and Sleaford. In East Yorkshire, there are seven flood warnings, external, including the Upper Hull catchment and the village of Bielby near Pocklington. The Lincolnshire Resilience Forum (LRF) said in addition to the current floods it is concerned about freezing temperatures across the county overnight.
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said it has received about 50 calls from people who reported water entering their properties. The group, which co-ordinates emergency services in the county, also confirmed 16 people had been rescued from properties in Billingborough, near Bourne, and are being temporarily housed in a village hall.
Phoenix Graham, who lives in Ruskington, said she had been left "upset beyond words" after heavy rain left her home surrounded by flood water. The Environment Agency has issued 26 flood warnings for Lincolnshire, external, including areas near Bourne, Grantham, Lincoln and Sleaford.
Supt Pat Coates, from Lincolnshire Police, said: "The south of the county is bearing the brunt of the problems and we're seeing the biggest impact there.
"The concern overnight and in the coming days is the freezing weather. The forecast looks dry but we're concerned about the standing water and anything that runs off the fields.
"Members of the public should not ignore road closures. We don't want any more damage or people to be put at unnecessary risk."
The LRF also told the BBC it was monitoring the situation around Edenham Primary School in Bourne and was considering using 4x4 vehicles to help children get home.

Ms Graham said "bits of building materials" were floating around the garden of her home in Manor Street, adding: "It's horrendous." Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue told BBC Radio Lincolnshire the majority of calls it had received had come from people living in the south of the county. The LRF said 16 major roads around Lincolnshire have been closed or are impassable due to the severe weather conditions.
Tom Patrick, station manager from the brigade said: "We've probably got around 40 to 50 calls continually that we are either actively on scene with or we are monitoring because we recognise that people need some support.
"At the minute we are getting lots of calls where water is starting to come into their properties or near to.
"We've also got [calls from] early hours where people were getting stuck in their vehicles."

On Facebook, Lincolnshire Police said it had attended "multiple" road traffic incidents across the county due to the severe weather conditions.

Humberside Fire and Rescue said it had attended flooding in North East Lincolnshire at Humber Road in South Killingholme and Killingholme Road in Habrough.
