A 20-year-old man has been charged in connection with a series of stabbings in a County Tyrone village, police have said. A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody over a series of stabbings in a County Tyrone village.
He has been charged with five counts of attempted murder in connection to an incident in Caledon on Monday. Christopher Hugh James Kelly, of Minterburn Road in Caledon, faced five counts of attempted murder following an incident in the village on Monday.
He is to appear before Strabane Magistrates Court on Thursday morning. Strabane Magistrates Court heard that he had been psychiatrically assessed after he was taken into custody.
Three of the four people injured in the incident have been discharged from hospital. Another is described as ill but stable. A detective constable confirmed that the accused did not know any of the injured parties.
Mr Kelly spoke briefly to the court, to confirm he understood the charges.
He was remanded in custody until 14 March.
