Lewis Blondrage, 25, of Aliwal Barracks, crashed into a telegraph pole in Meerut Road, Tidworth, on 19 November. Blondrage fled the scene and he was chased by local residents into the darkness. He was found guilty of drink driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision on Wednesday. He was sentenced to a 12-month driving disqualification and a £600 fine at Swindon Magistrates' Court. Blondrage has been disqualified from driving for a year and ordered to pay a fine It took several policing teams, including police dogs, to eventually capture Blondrage, Wiltshire Police said. On arrest he failed a roadside breath test and was taken to custody where he provided a blood sample which was over the legal limit.
