Lvova-Belova explained that the group, consisting of 14 boys and 12 girls aged 5 to 12, was found in a refugee camp in northeastern Syria. She added that prior to leaving Syria, they were examined by doctors. “My team visited one of the refugee camps, took blood samples from the children to conduct DNA tests to confirm kinship,” the commissioner said, noting that they had also been accompanied to Russia by medical experts from the Pirogov Children’s Clinical Hospital and the Forensic Medical Examination Center of the Russian Ministry of Health.
