Taylor Swift cake damaged and cannot shake it off
(32 minutes later) | |
A life-sized Taylor Swift cake has been badly damaged in transit to a major show and after being unable to "shake it off", must be withdrawn from public display.
On Friday morning, artist Elza Baldzhiyska tried to repair her creation at the popular event showcasing edible doubles of celebrities, but the cake was just too battered.
Photos appeared to show the sugary Swift bending at the knees, as if unwittingly performing moves seen on the record-breaking Eras tour.
The work had been scheduled to be one of the centrepieces at Cake International hosted at the NEC near Birmingham, but plans were spoiled by crumby catastrophe.
Photos also showed the cake without hands, but organisers said the edible extremities were always intended to be added afterwards, and Swift's wrists were not the issue.
But those disappointed by the wilting woes need not stay glum for long.
Thousands of visitors are expected to attend the event, which runs until Sunday, and they can enjoy lots of other creations, including a life-sized version of Queen Elizabeth I and a recreation of Dogpool, a canine character from the Deadpool & Wolverine hit movie.
