Version 0 of 1.

A pub landlady has told of her horror when a young woman staggered into her pub car park with her throat cut.

The 18-year-old was found dying outside the Swan Hotel in Bradford Road, Liversedge, on Thursday night.

Karen Osman said the teenager staggered into the car park and approached one of her customers as he was leaving.

She was bleeding "horrendously" and clutching her throat, Mrs Osman said. Attempts were made to save her, but she died later in hospital.

CCTV footage

Mrs Osman, who has been landlady at the pub for six years, said: "This was virtually on my doorstep. I can't get that poor girl out of my head. I have never seen anything like it.

"There was so much blood I couldn't even tell the colour of her clothes."

She said staff at a nearby petrol station had told her they had seen blood on the forecourt.

The girl had been filmed by the pub's CCTV cameras as she staggered into the car park.

"I don't think it could have happened too far away because of the volume of blood she was losing", she said.

Local woman

Detectives say they believe the teenager, who was from the local area, had walked along Holme Street before arriving at the car park.

Post-mortem tests were due to be carried out on Friday, West Yorkshire Police said.

Det Supt Andy Brennan, who is leading the investigation, said: "We would ask anyone who saw the girl making her way to the pub to contact us."

Meanwhile, police have warned drivers to expect "considerable disruption" in the area, which has been sealed off while officers investigate at the scene.

Bradford Road remained closed near the pub on Friday.
