I lost count of the number of times the chancellor mentioned Labour’s “inheritance” from the last government in her speech and subsequent answers to questions (Report, 29 July). It is almost as if she sees inheritance tax as being apt for dealing with that inheritance. We shall know on 30 October. Alan FairsBewdley, Worcestershire
