Gang robs elderly couple in home

A couple in their 80s are recovering after an aggravated burglary at their home in Islandmagee, near Larne.

A three-strong gang got into the house on the Mullaghboy Road and demanded money from the couple at about 2300 GMT on Saturday, police said.

They put the couple, both aged 88, into a bedroom while they searched the house.

They were not hurt, but have been left shaken by their ordeal. A sum of money and personal items were taken.

Police in Larne have appealed for information.
