Inquiry into attack and dog theft

Two men were seen removing a black Newfoundland dog from outside the Bennachie Lodge Hotel in Kemnay, Aberdeenshire, on Friday at 1900 GMT. When approached by the owner, the two men assaulted him and escaped with the dog, which is called Barney. Residents have been asked to be on the lookout for the dog, described as extremely large and friendly. Pc Rod Lawrence of Inverurie police office said: "Barney's owners are extremely anxious to secure his return. "He is a much loved pet and his disappearance has caused a great deal of upset and anguish for them." |
