PSNI help with UEFA Cup security
http://news.bbc.co.uk/go/rss/-/1/hi/northern_ireland/5370176.stm Version 0 of 1. Four PSNI officers will be travelling to Paris to help with security at next week's UEFA Cup tie between Derry City and Paris Saint Germain. The PSNI do not police Derry's home games at the Brandywell. However, Chief Superintendent Richard Russell said he did not foresee any trouble involving fans. "It's simply a liaising role, to be there to answer any questions that French police might have, and to smooth the passage," he said. "We don't expect any trouble from Derry City fans - they're famous for behaving well wherever they go, whether it be Norway, Gretna etc." The match at the Parc des Princes will be televised live on BBC Two Northern Ireland next Thursday, 28 September. It will also be covered live by BBC Radio Foyle and BBC Radio Ulster MW. |
