Police seek 'knifepoint rapist'

Police are seeking a man wanted in connection with the rape of a woman in Upton Park, east London.

Officers from Newham are trying to trace Dimitri Astapov, 30, in relation to the assault of a 33-year-old woman on 15 January.

Mr Astapov is alleged to have invited the victim into his bedroom at an address at Burges Rd, Upton Park, and then raped her at knifepoint.

Mr Astapov is about 6ft tall, white, of muscular build and he has ginger hair.

He has a noticeable square-shaped tattoo on his right-hand middle finger.

He is also known by the aliases Marcis Zukovs, Zguards Zilgalvis, Nerijus Kalibatas or Gaven Close and is known to haven connections with the Newham area.
