Almost 800 schools were closed on Thursday due to the weather, which brought travel disruption on the roads and to bus and train services. All main roads in Wales are open although some minor roads are closed.
Cardiff airport's runway was also shut for a while. In south Wales, the A4061 Bwlch mountain road is still closed, as is the Rhigos Road at Hirwaun and the A4233 Station Road at Maerdy and Aberdare.
The south Wales valleys, parts of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and the Brecon Beacons were the worst hit by the wintry weather. A far fewer number of schools have been reported closed on Friday. Most closed schools are in Powys and Rhondda Cynon Taf.
In Monmouthshire, around 800 homes were without electricity for a while as snow damaged power lines while Denbighshire Council had to suspend the meals on wheels services because of the adverse conditions. On Thursday, almost 800 schools were closed due to the weather.
