Police investigating a serious assault on a Polish man in Edinburgh have arrested a man. A man has been charged with attempted murder following a serious assault on a Polish man in Edinburgh.

The detained man is understood to have walked into St Leonard's Police Station, on the south side of the city, on Wednesday evening. Craig Jamieson, 26, is understood to have walked into St Leonard's Police Station on Wednesday.
The 26-year-old is expected to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court. He appeared at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday, where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.
Mr Jamieson is due to be fully committed on 15 February.
