BBC Wales forecaster Derek Brockway, said: "Most inland areas will see between two to five centimetres (1-2in) of snow, even in Cardiff, but some places could get clobbered with 10-15cm (4-6in), perhaps more. The worst affected areas have been the south Wales valleys, parts of Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion and the Brecon Beacons.
"The worst-hit areas will be the south Wales valleys, Monmouthshire, Powys and Denbighshire." Forecasters said conditions are expected to improve in Pembrokeshire, Powys, Ceredigion and across much of south Wales during the morning, but the snow could persist in north Wales into the evening.
