Man faces murder and rape charges

A man has appeared at a preliminary hearing at the High Court accused of the murder and rape of a Polish student in a Glasgow church.

Peter Tobin, 60, is accused of murdering and raping Angelika Kluk, 23, in St Patrick's Church, Anderston.

It is alleged he attempted to defeat the ends of justice by concealing her body under the chapel floor between 24 and 29 September last year.

Mr Tobin is due to go on trial at the High Court in Edinburgh on 19 March.

A further preliminary hearing will be heard on 1 March.
