Robbed woman identified by police

A woman who suffered life-threatening injuries after being robbed on her bicycle has been identified by police.

Officers made an appeal for help to identify the cyclist who was ambushed on Harrow Road, west London, by two moped riders who stole her bag.

The victim, who has not been named by police, is a 25-year-old student from north-west London. She is now in intensive care.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the attack to contact them.

Det Insp James Raphael, of Paddington CID, who is leading the inquiry, said: "One of our main appeals to the public was to help identify her and we are pleased to report we have now done this.

"However our investigation continues and we still need witnesses to come forward and assist us."

The attack took place close to the Travis Perkins roundabout, in west London, shortly after noon on Saturday.

Describing the attack, Mr Raphael said: "She was cycling along Harrow Road when suspects on two mopeds approached from behind.

"One has grabbed her bag off her back. This has led to her falling off her bike and hitting her head."

He said other people may have been involved in the robbery.
