The 6.5% rise was recommended by the School Teachers' Review Body (STRB) after an earlier government offer was rejected.
Dr Mary Bousted and Kevin Courtney, the joint general secretaries of the NEU, said the strike action had "shifted the dial" on pay negotiations earlier in the year.
"Everyone in the school and colleges community deserves an education system that attracts and keeps teaching staff, and one that ensures every child gets the attention and support they deserve," they added.
