The 32-year-old man was arrested on 23 January as part of an inquiry into how a terror suspect absconded by breaching a control order earlier in the month. Armed police had arrested the man at an address in Longsight. Two other suspects, both aged 24, who were arrested at an address in Heywood Street, Cheetham Hill, are still in custody and being questioned. On Thursday officers were granted a warrant of further detention to continue questioning the men. Greater Manchester Police said the men could be held in custody until 1500 GMT on Monday. A spokeswoman said the three men were arrested under the Terrorism Act 2000 following an operation by the force's anti-terrorist unit "in connection with an investigation concerning suspected terrorist support and facilitation". |
