Version 0 of 1.

A businessman whose body was found in a garage in Lanarkshire had been shot.

Victor Yuill's body was found by a member of the public at about 1915 GMT on Sunday within his timber business at Woodside Garage, Lanark.

Police confirmed the 47-year-old father-of-three had been shot and his death was being treated as murder.

Det Supt George Lambie said: "We have yet to establish a motive. However, there is no reason to believe that it was mistaken identity."

Police said Mr Yuill left his home in Lanark at about 1300 GMT on Sunday and travelled to the garage.

His body was found just over six hours later.

Det Supt Lambie said: "I am anxious to speak to anyone who was in the area of Ayr Road.

"A mobile police caravan has been set up at the scene.

"I would encourage members of the public to speak to the officers as they may, unwittingly, have seen or heard something of relevance."
