Glasgow is waiting to hear if it has been chosen to host Britain's first super-casino, featuring Las Vegas style gambling and unlimited jackpots. Glasgow has lost out on its bid to be the host of Britain's first super-casino, featuring Las Vegas style gambling and unlimited jackpots.
The city is one of seven bidding for the venue, although Blackpool and the Millennium Dome in London have been tipped as the favourites. The Casino Advisory Panel, which was set up by the UK Government, recommended Manchester be awarded the regional casino licence.

Stranraer is still hopeful of being granted a licence for a smaller casino. The panel recommended Stranraer be granted a licence for a smaller casino.
It was recently ranked highly in the running to secure one of 16 licences up for offer across the UK. In granting the super-casino licence, the panel chose the location it felt would gain the most through job creation and urban regeneration.
It is the only Scottish town still in the running. Glasgow City Council said proposed four sites for a super-casino:
