HOW GANG MADE OFF WITH £40M OF JEWELLERY Earlier in the day, on 6 August, the two robbers spent four hours at a make-up studio in Covent Garden having their appearance changed by an unwitting make-up artist1. At 16:40 BST two men enter Graff Jewellers on new Bond Street. Once inside they threaten staff with hand guns.2. They leave with £40m worth of jewellery. They fire a shot to ward off members of the public and get into a waiting BMW3. The BMW crashes into a taxi on Stafford Street but continues on its journey4. Another shot is fired in Dover Street as the two men switch to a second vehicle, a silver Mercedes. A powerful motorcycle also appears alongside and something is apparently passed to the rider5. The car drives into Berkeley Square and then Farm Street where some of the suspects get into a blue VW Sharan MPV |
