Several sections of the M25 in Surrey, Kent and Essex have been closed for the third consecutive day due to protests. A police officer has been injured on the M25 amid climate protests that have closed parts of the motorway in Kent, Surrey, Essex and Hertfordshire.
Demonstrators have climbed on gantries over the motorway between junction 7 (M23) and junction 8 at Reigate, with the clockwise carriageway closed, Surrey Police said. Essex Police said an officer was struck and injured when a lorry crashed at a rolling roadblock, as the Just Stop Oil group protested for the third day.
Disruption is also being reported between junction 4 at Orpington and junction 5 (A21/Sevenoaks) in Kent. One person has been arrested for causing a public nuisance.
Traffic is also being held before junction 30 (Lakeside) in Essex. Demonstrators have climbed on gantries over the carriageways, forcing police to close sections of the motorway.
