Every month there's a new figure for inflation - it estimates how much prices are rising across all the goods and services in the economy.Every month there's a new figure for inflation - it estimates how much prices are rising across all the goods and services in the economy.
In the 12 months to January 2024 the figure was 4.0%. That means things costing £1 in January 2023 cost £1.04 the same time the following year. In the 12 months to February 2024 the figure was 3.4%. That means things costing £1 in February 2023 cost just over £1.03 the same time the following year.
