A suicide car bomb in the Iraqi city of Ramadi has killed at least six people and wounded at least 17 others, local officials say. A suicide bomber has killed at least six people and wounded 17 others in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi, local officials say.
The target of the attack appeared to have been a police checkpoint and two traffic policemen are reported to be among the dead. Police say the attacker drove a mini-bus loaded with explosives into a police checkpoint in the city centre.
Women and children are among those wounded, officials said. At least two traffic policemen died in the attack and women and children are among the injured, officials said.

Vehicle exploded
Police Lt Hatim Abd said officers had been monitoring vehicles as they passed through the checkpoint in the city centre when a vehicle at the end of the queue exploded.
"We have shut down all the roads in the area and evacuated the wounded and those killed to the Ramadi hospital," he said.
A doctor at the Ramadi hospital said some of the injured were in a serious condition and the death toll could rise.
