Wife Swap television star Lizzy Bardsley has been found guilty of child cruelty charges. Wife Swap star Lizzy Bardsley has been found guilty of four child cruelty charges.
The 33-year-old, from Hurstead Road, Rochdale, Greater Manchester, denied three offences of wilful assault of a child under 16. The 33-year-old, from Rochdale, was found guilty of three charges of wilful assault of a child under 16 and one of wilful ill-treatment.
She also denied one count of wilful ill-treatment. All the charges related to the treatment of one child. All the offences relate to one child, who cannot be named for legal reasons.
Bardsley was convicted at Bolton Crown Court and is due to be sentenced next month. At Bolton Crown Court, Bardsley, of Hurstead Road in Milnrow, was granted bail until a sentencing hearing on 22 February.
The mother-of-eight appeared on the first series of the Channel 4 programme Wife Swap. Judge David Hernandez ordered the Probation Service to carry out a pre-sentence report in conjunction with social services.
In the programme, two women move into each other's homes, swap lifestyles and look after their "adopted" families. He added that all sentencing options would remain open.
