About 5,000 train drivers at seven rail companies who are members of the Aslef union will strike. Thousands of train drivers at nine rail companies who are members of the Aslef union will strike over pay.

Aslef members at nine rail companies will also strike over pay on 13 August. More than 40,000 railway workers who are members of the RMT union will go on strike on 18 and 20 August.
Arriva Rail London Although most companies aren't striking on 19 August, disruption is expected on days following strike action because services will take a while to get back to normal.
When the RMT went on strike in July, only around 20% of services ran on strike days and some parts of the country had no trains at all.

TSSA members at Network Rail will go on strike, as well as those working for: Avanti West Coast, C2C, East Midlands Railway, CrossCountry, Great Western Railway, LNER and Southeastern. Disruption is also likely on 19 August. Although it is not a strike day for most rail operators, the RMT union said London Underground train staff plan to strike over jobs and pensions. The RMT union also plans strike action on both London Underground and London Overground on 19 August train over pensions and pay.
