Emergency services are currently at the scene tackling the flooding and police have advised drivers to avoid the area. About 30 homes were damaged and the local school is expected to remain closed on Tuesday.

Police have also closed the A623 but said Stoney Middleton Primary School has not been affected. The A623 was also closed due to the flooding.

"It got to about 2.5ft high, just kept coming and coming and coming. About 50 homes have been damaged but no-one has been hurt.
