Guinea's strikers snub president Guinea police clash with strikers

Thousands of Guineans have again taken to the streets of the capital, Conakry, and towns across the country despite the president's plea for support. Security forces in Guinea have clashed with demonstrators, calling on President Lansana Conte to resign on the 13th day of a general strike.
A BBC correspondent says they are the biggest demonstrations since the strike began 13 days ago. Marchers are shouting "Enough" and "Bye Bye Conte". Unconfirmed reports from the capital, Conakry, say seven people were killed when police opened fire and two others died in the eastern town of Siguiri.
