A man is in hospital after being struck by a train in Worcestershire.

The man, thought to be in his 60s, is said to have been struck a "glancing blow" by a train travelling at 100mph.

Emergency services were called to railway tracks near Plough Road in Tibberton, Droitwich, during Saturday evening.

They found the seriously injured man lying on the tracks. He has been taken to hospital in Worcester for treatment to internal injuries.

A West Midlands Ambulance spokeswoman said: "Crews arrived at the scene to find a man on railway tracks who had reportedly received a glancing blow from a train travelling at around 100mph."
