No group has said it carried out the attack, which comes after local tribal leaders threatened revenge for the air raid on the alleged militant camp in South Waziristan last Tuesday. A spokesman for pro-Taleban forces in North Waziristan, Abdullah Farhad, denied they had anything to do with the attack.
More than 20 people were killed in the raid, officials say. He told the BBC they stood by the peace deal.
Local people told the journalists who visited the scene that eight people had been killed in the early morning raid and none of them were foreign nationals. Asked whether the bombing could have been carried out by other pro-Taleban militant groups, such as one led by local tribal leader Baitullah Mehsud, he said that they all supported the North Waziristan peace agreement signed on 5 September last year.
