Det Supt Ray Galloway, of North Yorkshire Police, said: "It remains my belief that Claudia met, or was picked up by, a person that she knew and trusted.
"Subsequently, our focus remains on those with whom she had been involved in a close relationship or, at the very least, someone who she was likely to trust and have confidence in."
He appealed for anybody with information to contact the police as soon as possible.
