A record number of competitors of all ages and abilities have been competing in Glasgow's 25th Great Scottish Run. A record number of runners pounded the streets of Glasgow in the 25th Great Scottish Run.
About 20,000 people took part in the half marathon and the 10km races, which set off from George Square and finished at Glasgow Green. Organisers of the half marathon and 10k event said 20,753 people entered the race, raising £2.5m for charity.
Thousands of spectators lined the route, which crossed over the Kingston Bridge, despite the rain. Health minister Andy Kerr and Rangers manager Paul Le Guen were among those taking part.
The ever more popular event attracted a strong field of elite athletes from across the world. Kenyan Jason Mbote defended his half marathon title from last year and achieved a record time of 61 minutes and 36 seconds.
Busiest weekend A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: "We're delighted with the record number of entries and the sum raised for charity, it's been a great day.
"We've now raised a total of £35m for charity since the first race."
More than 1,000 extra runners took part in the event this year.
