Probe after man shot in stomach

A 19-year-old man is to undergo surgery to have a bullet removed after he was shot in the stomach in Manchester.

Police were called to Aston Avenue in Fallowfield and found the victim with a gunshot wound at 0400 BST.

He was taken to hospital and is described as being in a stable condition.

Det Insp James Ellson said: "We are keeping an open mind about a motive, and are appealing for information."
