In a joint statement, Shadow Welsh Secretary Cheryl Gillan and Nick Bourne, leader of the Tories in the Welsh assembly, said: "Andrew was always full of enthusiasm and was a great supporter of the Conservative Party.
"He worked tirelessly for the party, including during last year's Blaenau Gwent by-elections. Along with his wife and son he will be greatly missed."
