A six-year-old boy on an organised trip with other young people has died after being pulled from a river in Suffolk. | |
The child, who lived locally, was found in the River Stour near Ballingdon Bridge in Sudbury on Tuesday evening. | |
A police spokeswoman said the boy was taken to West Suffolk Hospital in Bury St Edmunds but later died. His death is being treated as "unexplained". | |
She said: "Our sympathies are with the boy's family as police now investigate the exact circumstances of his death." | |
A spokeswoman for the East of England Ambulance Service said paramedics were called to reports of a drowning in Sudbury at 1922 BST. | |
