Five people have been taken to hospital after an unmarked police car was involved in a collision near Dunblane. A police officer and a 19-year-old man are in a serious condition in hospital after a crash involving an unmarked police car near Dunblane.

The civilian driver of the Honda has been airlifted to Stirling Royal Infirmary where his condition is described as "serious". Three other officers travelling in the Ford were also taken to Stirling Royal Infirmary.

The force said the Ford Mondeo was carrying four police officers at the time of the collision, all of whom have been taken to SRI. The force said the seriously injured 23-year-old female officer was part of a team undertaking basic driver training when the crash happened.
They are not thought to have been seriously injured. Her colleagues, a 32-year-old female officer and two male officers aged 34 and 23, are understood to have received only minor injuries.
Officers from Fife Constabulary are assisting police with the investigation into the cause of the collision. Fire crews from Central Scotland Fire and Rescue Service were also called to the scene to free the male Honda driver after he became trapped in his vehicle.
The road has been closed from its junction with the Hill of Row Road (B824) to the A9 slip at Dunblane. Accident investigators from Central Scotland Police are continuing their examinations of the crash site. Their findings are being overseen by officers from Fife Constabulary.
