Eifion Huws, chair of the milk committee for the FUW, said farmers would have their milk paid for and collected over the next 10 days, after which a new monthly contract will be on offer. People living around the Llandyrnog said any job losses would hit the village hard.
However, he said they would not receive money owed for last month's milk - a total of £15,000 in his case. Graham Carrington-Sykes said he hoped something could be done protect the future of the dairy.
