Crash injures biker and grandson

A 70-year-old man and his 13-year-old grandson have been seriously injured after their motorcycle swerved to avoid an emergency vehicle in Inverclyde. The accident happened on the southbound B788 just before Kilmacolm at about 1850 BST on Tuesday. It is thought the motorcycle swerved to avoid an emergency vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. The 70-year-old rider and his grandson, who was riding pillion, are being treated at Inverclyde Royal Hospital. Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the crash to contact them. |
