Andrew Snelgrove - who was among 10 people recently named as the most wanted UK suspects on the run on the Costa Blanca - was detained in Malaga. Andrew Snelgrove, born in Lewisham, south London, was one of 10 suspects named last year as the UK's "most wanted" on the run on the Costa Blanca.
Crimestoppers and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), named them last year as part of Operation Captura. His arrest in Malaga made him the sixth from Crimestoppers' list to have been detained on suspicion of such crimes as rape, drug smuggling and fraud.
Of the 10 named, for alleged crimes including rape, drug smuggling and fraud, six have now been captured. The charity said the public played a key role in the campaign's success.
British Ambassador to Spain, Denise Holt, called the latest arrest "a remarkable achievement".
Information given to Crimestoppers - which also has a freephone Spanish telephone line - can help locate suspects so that arrests can be carried out by the Spanish police.

Those on the Soca list are subject to European Arrest Warrants. He was named by Crimestoppers, which compiled its list with the Serious Organised Crime Agency (Soca), as being among several suspects subject to a European Arrest Warrant.
