A former Royal harpist from Gloucestershire has appeared in court charged with burglary.

Jemima Phillips, 27, from St Briavels, was the only musician to play at the wedding reception of the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

Originally from Ebbw Vale in south Wales, the musician faces three charges of house burglary and a fourth count of fraud by false representation.

She appeared before magistrates in Cheltenham on Saturday.

Ms Phillips, a Royal College of Music graduate, was appointed official harpist to Prince Charles in 2004 and featured in the first concert to be recorded in the Buckingham Palace ballroom.

A semi-finalist in the BBC's Young Musician of the Year competition, she was granted bail on condition that she reports to her local police station on Mondays and Wednesdays.

William Davies, 40, from Cheltenham, who is also charged with burglary, was remanded in custody.

Both are due to appear at Gloucester Crown Court on 10 June.
