Version 0 of 1.

Israeli troops have shot dead a Palestinian militant in the West Bank town of Nablus, hospital sources say.

The Israeli army said its troops had shot an armed man they had identified as a threat.

The man was an activist in a militant group linked to the Fatah party of President Mahmoud Abbas, the local hospital sources said.

Israel agreed a truce with Palestinian militants in Gaza in November but has continued raids in the West Bank.
