Town attack 'attempted murder'

An attack on a man in Coleraine on Saturday night is being treated as attempted murder, police have said.

It happened in the Harpur's Hill area of the County Londonderry town shortly before 2000 BST.

The man, who is in his 40s, is in a serious condition in hospital.

Two men have been arrested. The incident is not thought to have been sectarian.
